I went back and forth on 4 or 5 stars. It could be either in my opinion. This is actually one of if not my favorite campgrounds. More so for tent camping as it can be a little tight for campers depending on the set up and size. Battleground is very unique in that the campground is literally in Lake George village and close to pretty much everything. Your physical condition and abilities could pose the only limitations. Walking to the park, lake front or beach is right there. The main drag through the village runs right on the other side of the campground on the entrance side. It is a little bit of a walk into the center village itself. But you'll appreciate the walk when you see the traffic and parking issues on a weekend, and especially a holiday weekend. The showers are decent with no extra charges to use them. If I recall correctly, water is only in certain spots through out the campground. So if in a camper, fill up your tank before arriving. I really like this place for tent camping for all the reasons above. Although some sites can be less than level and may have roots. And down hill sites could get flooded in heavy rain storms, so plan ahead. We had that happen one time. All in all I like this campground a lot. It's a nice place to stay that offers the convenience of location and nice decent facility. It's also by far the least expensive place to stay in the village of Lake George that I know of.

Horrible place. They turned me around because I forget my rabies papers for my cats

Great place for quick walking to the village. Pet friendly. Can get crowded in the middle sites. Get your wood from the Exxon across the street. Cost a little more but is hard wood that burns! Great stay. Happy camping!⛺

Best drive up campsites if you want to be close enough to town to walk there.
