Anderson / Lake Hartwell KOA Holiday

Our campground is a gateway to a host of nearby treats where you can practice social distancing!

Your family might enjoy Stumphouse Tunnel and nearby Issaqueena Falls or whitewater rafting on the river made famous in the movie Deliverance. Take a picnic lunch and go lake swimming at a recreation area or rent a pontoon boat on nearby Hartwell Lake. Explore the Jockey Lot, known as the South's largest flea market, or visit the town of Pendleton - the entire town is on the National Register of Historic Places. Take a scenic drive on a highway that follows old Cherokee footpaths, visit beautiful Clemson University just 15 miles away, and stop in to see the South Carolina Botanical Garden. Try your best at one of several challenging golf courses or go for a hole-in-one at the KOA's mini golf course. Maybe you'll find long-lost relatives through your genealogy searches in nearby libraries or history museums.

But perhaps you are just traveling through and don't have time to check out the area this visit.  We are just 1 mile off I-85 and are perfect for your stop over when you have to go through Atlanta (approximately 1 and 1/2 hour away).  Get a good sleep and prepare to face Atlanta or relax after coming through at the end of your driving day!

We have cable TV on RV sites and deluxe cabins and some camping cabins as well as free WiFi.

Staff are very helpful and friendly. We had a deluxe patio and a nice place to rest, sit by the fire and use the grill for dinner. Would definitely come back.

Honestly, after reading some of these reviews I have to say - your perception is often your reality. Either a couple of these people met an entirely different staff than we met or something is funny... So I'm going to share OUR experience :) Day one: we arrived after "check in" hours - so our check in paper was hanging with our name on it - on the door - we found our campsite and got set up for the night... The next morning we went to the office to "officially," check-in - the woman working was so sweet. She took the time to go over the map with us and to share some of the fun things to do/places to go in the area. She was kind and she was helpful. Honestly, every single worker that we encountered during our entire stay was incredibly kind. As far as the camp itself - The bathrooms were nice and clean. The laundry room was clean. The entire camp was clean. It is a smaller KOA - but it's a small area, so it's to be expected. My kids still had a blast. They had fun playing at the little park and they loved the big bounce pad. It's okay to not have a million and one activities going on and twenty different play sets/structures - kids don't need constant stimulation and something to do 24/7..it's okay to have your kids use their imaginations and just enjoy playing outside...you know, like the good old days. We honestly had the best time. We took a day and drove to diamond hill mine and dug for different crystals (I highly recommend doing this!) And we also spent a day hiking/seeing the waterfalls and stump house tunnel - neither were too far of a drive from the park and both were 10/10 I would recommend. Start a campfire, make some s'mores, laugh with your kids and have a good time! Thank you Anderson/Lake Hartwell KOA for a great couple of days. We had a blast!

Visit again: definitely Felt safe: very Site condition: clean. Campground vibe: vacation-y, shaded, mature trees, not a concrete parking lot, inviting to relax & very close to all of Anderson. Pad Conditions : gravel, level, lots of pine needles so keep that in mind for awnings. Spacing between sites: plenty Views: wooded with mature tall trees. . Hook-ups: easy & not too muddy despite rain. Noise: very quiet Staff: friendly helpful GPS: accurate Things to do: downtown Anderson!!! Cute, clean, fantastic restaurants, easy car parking, comfortable walking all around.

we went in the office to ask general questions simply inquiring to use our camper for 5 months there.withen the first approach lady was very unwelcoming.as we asked questions only given rude Snyder answers by our 3rd she was so rude we walked out.if that's just the greeting then clearly not a nice place will gladly take my business elsewhere
