Love coming out here. You can have a picnic or go hiking or just go for a drive.. Very calming and peaceful. Take my family any chance I get.

Nice campground with plenty of shade, facilities and space.

We passed Quaking Aspen campground, which was fairly full. It was only 5 dollars to camp there, with an interagency lifetime pass. MGaffey had 29 sites. When we arrived around 7pm only one other site was taken. No cell service. Signs on the grill and fire circle said "no fire", but the forestry office said we could have a fire, since they had a lot of rain lately. No showers, electricity or flush toilets. However the sites are on mostly wooded lots which is good for shade, hammock camping and privacy. There was no host. We used self pay. It is 10 dollars a night Check out the age to buy the senior pass, it is less than 65 years old. The stars were incredible. Watch out for cows on the road! They are NOT fenced in. No grills, nice high altitude, lovely and cheap.

We found this place by accident and fell in love with it immediately. Site 5 was our home for 4 nights. I highly recommend it for the view of the sunsets and open pasture where prairie dogs play. No camp host but a crazy cemetery right near the entrance. Give it walk through and check out the dates on the stones. $10 a night was well worth it. Boondocking all over which we did for a few nights on FR 191. Other roads available just look for them. Expect a brief shower every day. Longest one was 4 hours, but nice and light and no wind what so ever.

Sublime serenity and beautiful view! Quietest campground we’ve found on our cross country trip. We had the entire camp to ourselves for hours, then another couple came and stayed at the opposite end. No bothersome insects, but I was delighted to find small cicadas!! #cicadatourist Plenty of vault toilets scattered throughout the campground. Camp Host wasn’t there. Cougar and bear country, but we saw neither. Picnic bench, grill, and fire pit at each site. Some sites tucked into the woods, some have a view.
