You’ll definitely need snowshoes to get in a good hike in the winter but will be rewarded with quiet beauty, little used but otherwise nice rolling snowshoe trails that are mostly marked and few to no people around you. There are full restroom facilities at the very nice rest stop at the entrance to the park off the highway (easily accessible from either direction and well maintained). The ranger station at the entrance has maps and water (on the back of the building) to fill your water bottles. Otherwise no facilities on site that I noticed. And most of the park isn’t plowed so I think only the 1 main parking lot is open in the winter.

Always fun to visit & learn from / there. Water levels are super low; Bring bug spray.

Nice campsites. Slow water fill station. Smelly Mississippi. Only 1 women's shower was working. Some sketers. Many chipmunks/ground squirrels. Some tried to get into travel trailer.

Great picnic area & bonus - flush toilets open. Did the hiking club trail that leads you through the history of the old shipping town Crow Wing - very interesting & learned some new things. Rest of the trail was along the river & in forest. Some small hill but not bad. Tree where still leafing out & I bet it's beautiful in the summer & fall. I recommend going to Charles Lindbergh State Park if in the area .... It's only about 30 minutes away.
