Duck mountain/Wellman Lake is a very beautiful place. There is so much to explore and many trails to walk, the trails are moderately challenging but very doable for children, do not try and bring strollers or wagons on hike as the terrain will make it very difficult to push or pull. The beach is beautiful and well kept as well as the public washrooms. Definitely a beautiful place to make wonderful memories. A extra FYI: while driving to the campground, if you do not want to bring your camper down a long ride of gravel and dirt road enter through the North side of the provincial park rather than the South. There is still travel through gravel road but not as much as coming through the south side. The south side entrance is a very scenic route, but hard on the camper. ENJOY CAMPERS!

Overall nice campground, clean and maintained. But there are a few flaws, some of them not a big of deal depending on your situation. Some of the sites are sloped a lot, despite the online description stating that the slope is only at the entrance. Our campsite in particular the description had said it would fit trailers up to 40 feet and the site itself is a “levelled site”, but that was not the case. I noticed Bay 1 is pretty much all open sites, but in Bay 2 and 3 there is more privacy. We were in Bay 2. Firewood is not free and costs almost $15 for a bundle. The lodge sounded bigger than what was expected. Nearest town is almost 30 min away and bigger town 45 min. So make sure you have all your groceries as needed as you won’t find much to shop at the lodge. We decided to try the lodge food and it was hit/miss. Some of our food was very good and parts of it was not so great. In particular my husbands burger was very greasy and not like how it looked in pictures online and the onion rings looked great, but were actually in-edible. Super chewy and weird texture. Maybe just the cook that day, not sure. The beach seems more like dirt than sand, and under the water is very mushy and muddy. But the water is warm though. Finally *IMPORTANT* fair warning to those using Google Maps for navigation, Google attempted to take us down a dirt road/grass road and the joining road beside the grass road is a private road. The campground is not accessible this way!

The campground is actually well-maintained, I saw staff driving around picking up garbage at 7:30 in the morning and they also cleaned the bathroom at around 11 something. The lake is very nice and the water quality is great as well. The water isn't very deep and not many people were there. The reason why I took two stars away was because of the mosquitoes . They were crazy even at daytime which was annoying. My friends and I got a lot of bites so it affected out moods.
