Pleasantly surprised. Started off with generators running all around us (on the generator free loop), but right before 8pm, they all shut off as required. Still, unpleasant to hear for hours during the day time. Turns out, the loop is not gen free during the winter/early spring. Bummer. Overall, scenic spot. Nice nature trail, even 8f it was the most challenging nature trail I have ever walked, it was great. Get a good cell signal at the top of that trail too, so bonus to hike it.

My family used to camp here when I was a kid in late 80s and early 90s. Now, I get to take my family! It is a beautiful quiet place that will always hold a special place in my heart!

Amazing campground. No hookups but they do have water spigot to fill up containers. Almond with a dump station.

Great campground, clean convenient bathrooms, very busy in the fall and easy access to streams. Good base camp for exploring the smokies and way access to blue ridge parkway and Asheville.

Although I only stayed one night here, it was the most beautiful night of the year for me. Absolutely perfect weather, peaceful sounds of the river and gentle sounds of bugs at night, all the while not a single bug bite while car camping with the windows down all night. I originally intended to meet a friend here with an RV but he couldn’t come, so I just slept in my car at an RV site but I was still very happy here. Nice touch with the restrooms and well organized, I liked the layout here. Very friendly and helpful staff and generally good people come here to camp. The online reservation was handy and easy. Will be coming back ASAP!
