Gros Morne / Norris Point KOA Holiday

Endless trails-some easy, some demanding-explore the contours and vistas of this stunning land.

Join in a campfire sing-along as dusk falls and lake mists rise at Newfoundland's first and only KOA. This secluded campground sits in a wooded valley at the center of Gros Morne National Park, an area so spectacular it has been designated a World Heritage Site. Campsites overlook a majestic mountain lake, perfect for swimming and boating (pedal boat and canoe rentals available). Walk the "Moose Path" along its shore. Endless trails - some easy, some demanding - explore the contours and vistas of this stunning land. Join interpretive kayak tours to glide among glacier-carved fjords. Kids get their own interpretive hikes and crafts. You'll all want to become honorary Newfoundlanders with the KOA's initiation "screech-in." Max pull thru: 80 feet. Your hosts: the Shears family.

NICE PLACE TO STAY!!!! We were planning to stay there for two nights, and we extended it for four nights because we really loved this place! The view is fantastic, and the sunrise is worth every penny! This camping is really well-situated! You're in the center of every activity and hike of the Gros Morne! I recommend this place with no hesitation, and we'll probably go back there when we go back to Gros Morne!

Key points: - Pet friendly - Very well maintained - lots of activities for kids; large jump pad, playground, swimming, peddle go karts. - lots of sites with stunning water/hill views - fireplace & seating area near wafer - affordable - long term rentals available - cabins with water view - individual roomy showers - laundry on site We stayed for 3 nights after crossing on the ferry during the off season and it was absolutely GORGEOUS. Our site had all hookups, a table with 4 chairs on a large cement pad and a bench next to a beautiful fireplace (see photos). Since they were closing that week, for a couple nights there were no other campers but us on the property. It was a little chilly but sooo peaceful, and with the fall colors every view was stunning. Ruth, who worked the store and cleaned the buildings was an absolute gem. She was so kind. The store prices were also excellent especially considering what we've paid in other campgrounds. Highly recommend taking the chance to check this one out if you can, any time of year. We can't wait to check it out in the summer!
