Kankakee South KOA offers a quiet get-away-from-it-all retreat that's just an hour south of Chicago. Good restaurants, golf courses, canoe trips and Friday night stock car races are nearby. At nearby Kankakee River State Park, enjoy the scenic wilderness paths. Hiking, biking, canoeing, fishing and picnicking are favorite State Park pastimes. At the campground, amenities include the pool, playground, basketball and volleyball courts, and a game room - or relax under one of the big, shady oaks. Pool: Memorial Day Weekend - Labor Day Weekend. Max pull thru: 75 feet.

Vary nice place to camp. Very nice people that runs the campgrounds they are willing to help you to enjoy your stay with them.

We stayed here just recently, The campground is very poorly maintained in general. No nice gravel pads, sites were full of debris and fire pits just ill kept. For the price of the stay we expect more from a KOA. On the bright side bathroom were clean when we used them. Tried to do this review on the one summited to us via e-mail but it said one was already submitted on our behalf. On that site almost every review is 5 out of 5. Something is fishy this place is no where near a 5. We camp a lot around the states and this is a location I would not recommend.

Wonderful experience, great owners, super responsive staff, fully stocked camp store and they are currently working on a brand new playground for the kiddos.
