Arrived to Waitsboro campground for our first ever camping trip. Our rented camper was delivered and setup prior to our arrival. As we entered there was a "Volunteer site" setup at front gate. Met 2 of the nicest people ever... Mac and Teresa. Mac was more than helpful. Lead us to our site, walked in our camper, showed us all the bells and whistles on our rented camper since we were newbies. Walked us through how to roll up the awning since there was a chance of storms late that night. Fast forward to well after dark while we were sitting outside at the fire Mac and Teresa both pull up. Told us they drive around and check on us campers through the night. After some laughs and shared s'mores the helpful couple took off for another patrol. While settling down for the night there was one last flash from a spotlight in our window as they drove by waving goodnight. I will say this... I don't know which I enjoyed more. Our first camping trip or meeting them. Every time we saw them we were met with a smile and a wave. If this is camping I'm hooked for life. Thanks to you both Mac and Teresa for a wknd need will never forget.

Entire campground is a long, narrow area that is barely stuck between the lake and the hillside, with little room to park camper and tow vehicle. At the end you must negotiate a narrow curve in order to come back out. Just hope you don't meet another camper that is coming in, you'll both be in trouble. If you can get in and secure a campsite overlooking the lake you will be literally a few feet from the drop-off overlooking the lake.

Wow! This is a small serene campground! Nice bathrooms with showers, washer/dryer covered outside, very mild bug concern, beautiful daydreaming views at every spot, the staff/host was very kind and helpful! This place is a little treat! Great for boaters or just passer-bys!!

Views were amazing, volunteers were pleasant and easy to talk to. Campground is quiet after 10pm. Mostly families while we stayed. They need to make sure campsites are clear of dog feces between campers. Our site smelled like a kennel. There is no actual beach but at the end of the camping loop there is a staircase that leads to a rocky, glass filled area that you can get to the lake. Be careful, something (unknown) bit the back of my leg in the water. Camp hosts can share directions to a better swimming area. We would be very likely to return.
