Lewis Lake Campground

Have boondocked at Lewis Lake for a number of years with a pickup and smaller bumper pull. TT. Sites are private but tight. Hosts were near end of season but very nice and helpful on entering campground. Was cold but then it was Oct in northern WY. Be sure you know total length of your rig. Smaller sites for smaller units only. No hookups but nice campground to use as a base.

was great except that the campground host made noise all night from about 11pm? to near 6 AM banging around and kept me awake all night i guess he was moving out for the season. would have been polite to adhere to the rules of keeping quiet at night and he did this moving during the daytime. i did not sleep a minute that night. i had the site across from him the day the water was being shut off. very rude to make that much noise. it was slam, banging , his dog yelping ,revving up the rv engine on and off;a LOT of noise . except for that i would give if 5 stars

They fill up last but still quick! You should try getting there around 8am for first come first serve sites. You can stay up to two weeks once you have a site! The amenities are lacking, but it's quiet and near the lake. It's by the south entrance and takes at least an hour (like everywhere else) to get to anywhere else in the park. A good alternative if you can't get a reservation anywhere.

Cute campground, awesome that it is by the lake. Definitely worth trying. We got really lucky with our FF spot, some of the spots look not as great. Lots of shade, spots are mostly far away from each other. Also tents and trailers are separate, which I am always happy to see. Park rangers were super nice, as always.
