While access to the lake is great and a welcome diversion while camping, we only used the parking section of the campsite because it was so overgrown. There were obvious paths where others had tramped through the high grass, but we were unwilling to get ticks, or find snakes in that grass.

For warm season camping, there are shadier camps... pretty desolate.

This was a fun place to camp! We found some cool trails to go exploring in the forest and there was great access to the lake which was beautiful. The only thing that was unpleasant was how close all the camp sites were to each other. We were basically camping directly next to at least four other groups and almost all of the trees had been cut down so there wasn't any privacy and zero shade. But all in all it was very nice.
