Laundry facilities not maintained. Most of the washing machines we're down. Not acceptable! The rv sites could be maintained better. Would be helpful to have gravel placed in the sites. Some have gravel but could be better. Keeps down the weeds and dust. Weeds are overgrown in quite a few sites. I noticed alot of dog waste being left. I guess some think it's not their responsibility to clean up after their pet. This should be addressed. I did see undocumented ones running through our site along with other sites as well. The speed limit is enforced for the most part although seems like the border patrol vehicles speed through quite often. They should follow the speed limit as well. Could be dangerous for children. The staff are friendly and helpful maybe a little under staffed. We have stayed at this park several times and do enjoy our stay. Just a few things to make the park better. Please maintain the sites gravel gravel gravel!

Most thousand trails don’t have cell service in my experience this is just one. What I haven’t seen commented is 3 important things. The shower water pressure is terrible there was barely any. The sites are to small for my taste I’d like a little more space not stacked on each other especially the tent sites. Worst of all something that I’ve never dealt with at any thousand trails or any campground in general campground that shouldn’t be allowed is they don’t just require your id and member number like other campgrounds they require your vehicle registration and insurance. I have a problem giving that over nor do I see the need. That bothered me more then the other stuff. Otherwise noisey old people riding around on golf carts that’s typical of campgrounds so can’t say that was a different experience. Sorry for the negativity this campground just wasn’t my thing

I have to say this is one of my least favorite Thousand Trails campgrounds so far. Pio Pico has a lot of potential to be a fun destination but I feel it is extremely neglected. Pools and hot tubs are closed. Bathrooms and amenities appear pretty run down. You see the typical "Pardon our dust" signs so hopefully things are fixed quickly. Being so near to one of the most expensive cities in the US you'd think it would be upgraded to 50 Amp power as well. Cell service is non-existent, though they of course can't control that. I will say the staff is all very friendly. If you're coming here to visit San Diego it is quite the trek into the city, to the beach, or to anything of note. We spent 3 weeks here, which was way too long with nothing to do in the area. Unless you're ok driving a total of 2 hours to something interesting and back it's a fairly boring campground to stay in. We come here often and usually in our travel trailer. This time we rented a cabin which is nice and great for 4 people. But small for anymore than that. We travel with a large group and wanted to have something bigger and next to eachother. Fawn and Lisa were very accommodating and helped us with our needs. Definitely great customer service.

Very thankful for the pet friendly cabin. The overall impression is good. Nice pool, convenient laundry room, beautiful scenery with a lot of wild animals like rabbits and squirrels and birds. Neighbors are always friendly and most of the staffs are nice and welcoming. Only there’s this one chubby lady with short hair can be a bit harsh on people that’s why the 4 stars instead of 5 😅
