Neat location right on the lake. Bathrooms were decent. The campground could benefit from a little bit of maintenance, particularly the dump station. We were very frustrated with the condition it was in. Also, we noticed a lot of dead trees at our campsite that were spray painted with x's on them. I'm assuming they intend to cut them down. Hopefully they do it soon before they fall on someone's camper. We were worried about that during our stay.

If I could give this zero stars I would. We used to go here just cause it was a place to swim in Blairsville. But the beach is terribly maintained, it’s super rocky, the water is muddy…and the playground is an absolute joke, which my child got attacked by yellow jackets at. They used to only charge $2 so I couldn’t complain. But my mom and kids and I went and the owners drove around asking every person (there weren’t many as it is) whose ticket that was cause they owed them $3. Apparently they upped the price and when I said I didn’t realize that, the owner got rude and said “well there was a sign.” They said because everywhere else charges $5, they will too. Everywhere else charges $5 cause they have a place you actually WANT to go to. Vogel has a CLEAN CLEAR beach with no rocks, a LEGIT playground, canoeing, putt putt, cabins, etc. I’ve traveled to state parks and campgrounds all over Georgia and not once have I ever seen a park charge $5 that wasn’t damn well worth it and I’ve never seen someone so greedy for the money that they check the fee box every hour to make sure not one person slips by. Nobody went there before, now no one definitely doesn’t go there. I know we don’t anymore. I love state parks and campgrounds and I have never had a problem putting some money towards helping them, but I do when the owners treat you like that and act just plain greedy.

We had an amazing time camping at Poteete Creek campground for a week. The staff was very friendly. The sites have gorgeous views and the atmosphere was peaceful.

My family and I stayed here for a weekend this summer. It was an awesome camping trip at a very nice, family-oriented campground! Judy is a friendly host and all the neighbors were nice. The campground has a lot of long term campers who truly make this campground into a sweet and friendly community. Camp sites are well spaced with trees and beauty surrounding them. When it comes to amenities like the bathroom, you will not be disappointed. The bathrooms were clean and the one we were closest to had a cozy, home-like feel. The campground has a playground for kids. There is a swimming area at the lake. The views (especially on or near the water) are spectacular. Poteete Creek Campground was a wonderful getaway. We look forward to our next visit.
