Yes this is a wilderness Reserve and Provincial park, its not going to have amenities like resorts outside of its boarders. come prepared to spend time here without connectivity to the rest of the world. the closest urban center is 500 Km south. its going to be busy from May thru July. this park caters to people looking to enjoy a few days of fishing or hunting, the territory is vast there are many miles of roads and water to explore. be prepared to travel on them. Remember that the park attendants are there to make sure that you get what you paid for and have access to what you reserved. they are not your personal concierge. they don't have to bend over backwards to ensure that you have the best vacation possible. if you don't know what your doing or neglect to plan properly its your own fault. if you are a novice at camping and fishing I strongly recommend spending your time elsewhere. if you don't know what your doing this is not a good place to learn. I strongly infer that those who are high maintenance and need lots of help getting what they need to vacation at a resort or lodge and to hire a guild. this park is a DIY experience. the cabins on many of the lakes are rustic, there not private 5 star hotel suits. sometimes they are missing items, the beds don't have sheets and pillows. sometimes you have to bring your own water and source of power. your going to sacrifice convenience for solitude and quite, if your going to come here you have to be able to support yourself. there are no modern playgrounds or sports facilities, the interpretive center is small, there are no educational or summer programs for kids to be babysat. I would not recommend this park for large tour groups of family events, there are no pavilions with electricity and water to hold large social gatherings. washroom facilities are minimal and rustic.

I went there during a 10 day canoe-camping trip and it was fabulous. The view of the different lakes were amazing with nice campsite for us to rest every evening. The portages trail were well maintained and were nice to walk. Overall, we got a total of 15 minute of rain during the whole 10 day. I would recommend to absolutely everyone.
