Nothing like the Pinecrest area in the fall! Much more quiet. Not like the summer...the campsites seem larger than in the main campground. Too bad no open fires, but certainly understood.

It seems like this would be a great place to visit. However, while we were there the police were driving through the campgrounds dealing with violent altercations, there was a hit and run, our tires were slashed on our truck. The worst part is they threatened to tow our truck because we weren’t allowed to leave it parked there overnight even though we had a hard time finding a tow service…

Pretty nice $30 first come first serve no reservation campground about 3/4 mile from Pinecrest Lake. About 3/4 mile walk to the lake depending on camp site. Flush toilets with lights, but only a few for the whole campground. Good fresh water from spigots. Trees are slowly dying away leaving less and less shade so be nice to the trees when your here. Most camp sites have several spots for tents, and most have large paved parking pads for at least 2-3 good sized vehicles, several different types of sites from open sunny, to shady, some rocky, some in a meadow and some with tents spots down a hill. You can hear the highway from the campground louder depending on what size you campng in but its not horrible, but the semis drag brakes can be loud if late at night. They allow fires in fire pits currently when I visited. I had to review because there was no good picture of the camp site layout I could find online except their hard to read size number map posted so I had to put a good map I found of the grounds, enjoy, camp, and have fun!! 4 stars cuz its far from lake, lots of sun, limited bathrooms and neighbors houses with lights on all night long.

Great camp grounds, easy walk to the lake. Would be good if it had shower facilities though.
