A very simple park with short, easy trails. Don't try to exaggerate the hiking experience. We did the entire park in just over an hour. Went during the winter, so the entrance fee was worth it and it wasn't crowded. I cannot imagine this place being very exciting during the summer, when admission fees are up and the place is filled with people. Honestly, I wish the roads didn't go so far into the park. All the vehicles and unnecessary roads kill the scenery. Felt like a city park that happens to have a somewhat impressive waterfall. I hope it can be expanded, because there's great potential for more serious hiking and camping in the area. For now, this place is nothing compared to the Wichita Wildlife Refuge, and I've been all through out both parks. The place really did have quite a bit of litter. To me, this is a testament to the types of people who camp here. Just, visit during the winter to avoid most of the trash.

Last summer, my summer camp took all of us to Turner Falls. I live down in Dallas Texas, so I had no idea what this place was. Turns out, it was amazing. When we were in the big pool, there was a kid who would not want to jump off the diving board. The whole pool was cheering this kid on to jump off (Note: he was around 4-5 years old I think) Once he did, the whole place erupted and everyone was so happy. Great slides, people there are amazing.

It's okay. Not much to do if you're not camping

A true low key natural beauty and fun gem! Some of the facilities are a little older and slightly run down, but staff keep the property immaculate. About a 5 hour drive from Houston... great for a long camping weekend. Highly recommended for families. If you bring kids... Don't forget to bring life jackets for kids. I will recommend to friends. Another plus, most signage is in English and Spanish.
